Child Support in Michigan is calculated based on the Michigan Child Support Guidelines. The Guidelines use a set of tables and financial information to calculate support.  The guidelines are the same throughout Michigan.  The Child Support Guidelines use information such as the parties income, amount of overnights with the children, dayacre, and other factors to determine the amount of support. The guidelines require that you impute the following:

1. Marital Status in Filing Taxes (married, single, Head of household)

2. Number of Children.

3. Amount of Daycare.

4. Amount of owner nights each parent has (Not what the judgment states. Actual overnights).

5. Income of the Plaintiff and Defendant (you get a deduction for healthcare costs etc..)

6. Second Family deduction (If you have other children).
